Ahhhh.... Liberty!

Hello there!

This is Day 3 of Fabric Fast 2014, so I thought I'd indulge in a fabric post...

I may have mentioned before that Mr. Running Thimble travels a lot and likes to buy me fabric.  I normally make it very easy for him by scouting the quilt stores online first and giving him all the information he needs.  Well his last trip of 2013 was to London, so guess where I sent him?

I know, I know, you can get this stuff online, but I can't say I was really interested in it before.  Nice fabric, for sure, but it seemed overpriced and I really did not understand why people would pay that much for fabric.

But with him being in London and asking me what I wanted him to bring back, the occasion was too good to pass.  I sent him to Liberty and asked him to bring back a little something, like 4 fat quarters.  He came back with 6 gorgeous one-yard pieces.  Liberty does not sell fat quarters.

If you have never touch Liberty cotton you may be wondering what the fuss is all about...  They are so soft, almost silky, and the colours are vibrant.   I know one of them will be a scarf, but which one?  Or maybe two scarves? Or three?  It's hard to chose a favourite...

They are a luxury for sure.  I feel pretty good that I own 6 yards of the stuff (and I try not to think about all the other gorgeous fabric I could have bought with the cost of these 6 yards).  I wish my husband had to travel to London again, but unfortunately, his next destinations are just not as exciting.

Hmmm...  So nice...  So many possibilities...

Have you had your hands on Liberty fabric before?

  3. I have never encountered Liberty and the prints are just not what I generally go for so the temptation has never been that high for me. Probably for the good LOL. But I can admire and understand what a score this is :)
